WHEN CAN I JOIN YOUR TANGO CLASSES?

You can join our Tango classes at any time when you like to, on a drop-in or subscription basis!

But all our Beginner Tango courses (Tango 1) are designed in such a way that there is a gradual progression in the class material, starting from very easy and basic. To a bit more challenging towards the end of the course.

DO I NEED A DANCE PARTNER?

NO you do not have to bring a dancer partner to our classes! If you have one that’s great, and then you can use our amazing 2-FOR-1 OFFER together with your friend or (dance) partner. But individuals are also very welcome too, and we make sure that everybody gets to dance and practice!

WHAT KIND OF CLOTHES DO WE WEAR?

All our classes are very casual and relaxed, so you can wear anything that YOU feel comfortable in! Jeans and T-shirt are absolutely fine, and if you come directly from the office in a suit that's also not a problem too.

THE most important thing to us is that you feel comfortable and at home, and that you're having a great time!

WHAT KIND OF SHOES DO I NEED?

No need to buy the fancy dance shoes just yet! Also for the shoes you can wear anything you feel comfortable in, but we strongly recommend not to wear any sneakers/sport shoes (they are normally too sticky to dance on the floor).

I ALREADY KNOW I WILL MISS A CLASS (OR 2), IS THAT A PROBLEM?

It is NOT a problem at all to join our courses, even if you’re missing a class or two. There are two options:

  1. You can catch up the classes that you’ve missed at another Tango-Fever venue
  2.  Or you can use classes that you’ve missed as a credit in the next level up (Tango 2)

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO LEARN how to dance TANGO?

This is a difficult question to answer… As every person is unique and progresses in different speeds, it also depends on how much time and effort you (can) put into learning it.

Because of the nature of the dance (we improvise everything), Tango is a dance that you can continue exploring for the rest of your life. This includes the music, history and social dance etiquette too.

The great thing is that Tango can be broken down into simple easy to understand elements, so that after a few classes you’ll be able to start improvising already and feel comfortable when you’re dancing.

In our school, we offer weekly classes for Absolute Beginners (with no dance experience) up to Advanced classes (who’ve been dancing for several years). And we organise practice sessions too (Practicas) where you can work on your Tango skills.

I’VE STUDIED OTHER DANCES, CAN I SKIP THE BEGINNERS CLASSES?

The short answer is NO - Having danced and studied other dances definitely will help you a lot, give you a head start, and you will progress much faster.

But we always strongly recommend that you start with the beginner's course, as there are some techniques and principles that are quite unique to Tango. That you don’t find in any other dances, but really need to understand in order to move on comfortably to the next level.

But don’t worry if you think the beginners classes will be boring! The technique and concepts of dancing Tango will be new to you, and we will see straight away see that you have previous dance experience. So we will give you a little bit extra to put your teeth in and keep you challenged in this level.

HOW CAN I BE SURE THE CLASS IS ON?

Our website is updated on a regular basis so you can safely assume that all the information here is up-to-date.

Whenever there is a class cancellation (which very seldom happens), we will notify everybody as soon as possible through our Mailing list & Tango-Fever Facebook group (we will not do so via direct mail or messaging)

You can sign up to our mailing list by using the webform below. (we are fully GDPR compliant so you can unsubscribe any time you want)
